We were delighted to be awarded the contract, in March 2016, to deliver an element of Fulfilling Lives, a highly innovative programme, funded by the Big Lottery Foundation, in Newcastle Gateshead to help people with multiple needs (in terms of addiction, mental health, offending, and housing) to better manage their lives, by ensuring that the services they use are more tailored and better connected to each other.
Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead is lead by a partnership of Changing Lives, Mental Health Concern and Oasis Aquila Housing and our role is to provide the front line staffing or the programme and we contract with six of our members to employ 12 staff across Newcastle and Gateshead. Our six partners are
- Advocacy Centre North
- Age UK Newcastle
- Mental Health Concern
- Oasis Aquila Housing
- Tyneside and Northumberland Mind
- Tyneside Women’s Health
In its first year of operation, the programme supported 130 people to help then turn their lives around. A summary of the evaluation of the first year of the programme is here and if you want to find out more about this successful initiative which is connecting services to work better together visit the Fulfilling Lives website.
